This moving video shows the release of a further 4 hostages - Gloria Polanco, Luis Eladio Perez Bonilla, Orlando Beltran & Senator Jorge Eduardo Gechem - on the 27th February 2008.
This release brought hope that more hostages would be released shortly, but following the Colombian army’s ambush & killing of Raul Reyes and another senior member of the group, (Reyes was negotiating with Ecuadorian, Venezualan & French officials with the aim of releasing a further 19 hostages this month, including Ingrid Betancourt), these hopes have turned to dust.
Ingrid is very ill with a recurring hepatitis-B infection and doesn’t have much time left to wait.
We need to do all we can to help her and all the other hostages held in Colombia.
