Colombia : 4 hostages freed by FARC - France24
envoyé par FRANCE_24
This is a video from the international news channel France 24, in which the LatinAmerican specialist Pascal Drouhaud is interviewed about the release of four more Colombian hostages - Gloria Polanco, Luis Eladio Perez Bonilla, Orlando Beltran & Senator Jorge Eduardo Gechem - on the 27th February 2008. It is worth watching if you would like more information about the situation surrounding the hostage crisis in Colombia.
This release brought hope that more hostages would be released shortly, but following the Colombian army’s ambush & killing of Raul Reyes and another senior member of the group, (Reyes was negotiating with Ecuadorian, Venezualan & French officials with the aim of releasing a further 19 hostages this month, including Ingrid Betancourt), these hopes have turned to dust.
Ingrid is very ill with a recurring hepatitis-B infection and doesn’t have much time left to wait.
We need to do all we can to help her and all the other hostages held in Colombia.
